Atypical Teaser

http://atypicalclothing.com/

More to come from this shoot soon.
Webstore opens Friday.

John

My fellow Humber College Creative Photography Alumni John Butler asked me to help him with a personal project he is working on. So I lent my expertise and some of my gear to the cause...and snapped a few blurry, unflattering mustache, behind the scenes stuff with some long shutter speeds, and my backup camera.I will link to the final result when he finishes up and posts it.

Malcom & Isil's wedding

I recently had the privilege to shoot Malcom and Isil's wedding. It was a fast paced and fun wedding. Unfortunately by the time things got going, it was already dark outside, so we did all the shots inside of the church. Also, here is a link to a video my brother shot and cut from the night: http://vimeo.com/6958472

PEI Vacation

My parents and lady friend and I spent two weeks In Prince Edward Island. It was great to be able to visit the East coast twice in one summer. For the most part we just relaxed at the beach, so I did not do too much shooting. Apparently we brought the good weather. Anyways, here are some shots.

Hero from the Start

Here as band shoot from a while ago. Hero from the Start, keep an eye out for some new stuff on their myspace: http://www.myspace.com/herofromthestart . This one was kind of a bummer...by the time we got together it was consistently raining with no break in sight, and we were losing light. So, we got what shots we could get done under the cover of a tree, and with my flash in a Ziploc bag.
Then we managed to get some studio stuff done, so here is a couple from there.

Oh Boy...

So...It has been quite a while since I have made a post. I just kept sitting on photos, was busy with tour and vacation and work that by the time I would get around to posting, I had been sitting on them so long I didn't feel like sharing...but then my "fans" (pretty much just my family) were in an outrage regarding my lack of updates.

I found the photographs from the last day of tour, which were in the wrong folder, on a wrong drive and then forgotten...so I'll start with these photographs and go from there.

Day 6: Halifax Show

This was a good show, with a pretty good turn out. We played at a venue called the Pavilion, which was the best venue thus far.

Day 2/Day3: Jamie's Trailer

Like I had said earlier, we had a day off on our second day...and it rained..well here is the result of all that rain on our handmade under-weather sealed trailer. Some wet boxes..plenty of dripping water...and some bordem, but no major damage and I think the problem has since been addressed, so we go on!

A nice puddle of water that dripped out once we tilted the trailer.

Day 1: Kingston

Had a fun day in Kingston. It was our first show of the tour with I am Committing a Sin. We had the day off after...and all we did was drive in the rain, so I kept the camera away. More to come soon after the show tonight here in Saint John!

Ps: There are a lot here and in no particular order...

and then apparently found something very upsetting and confusing.I just bleached my nice white shoes...earlier in the day I poured an orange beverage out and got splatters all over them...then later in the night...i managed to step on the largest piece of dog fecal matter known to man kind...then I scraped it off and found it photo worthy.

Whoa

So...I am still in fact, alive, regardless of what my lack of updates would have you thinking. I've been sitting on photographs for so long...I kept putting off updates, for whatever reasons, and now I am sick of those photographs...so they may never see the light of day on this blog.
I recently joined the band oceans, recorded a full length album, and am abou to start tour today (July 10th) out east and back. So this venture has kept me busy. I hope to be maiking at least every other day blog entries documenting the tour. If you havent heard, or are interested you can download the previously mentioned full length cd for free at this website: www.thesoundofoceans.com --and make sure to look around at the photo section because I did them!

Anyways, for now I leave you with a single photograph of a band I shot recently, Hero from the Start. As I finish the picutres, I will throw them up here, along with the story that goes with it, because it was one doozy of a shoot.

Click for a bigger view if you feel so inclined, I am actually happy with this one, as the focus was hard to pull off, especially in such low light .

Stoked

I promise there will be some actual updates, with some new photos soon. But for now, I have some other stuff to share. First off, The image above it a screen shot of my new website that I just finished designing. You can either click the link at the side, or http://www.joshgloverphotography.com/
So please take a look, I put a pretty good deal of ime into it, and it is the fist time I've ever done any web stuff. Also there is some new work on the site that has never seen the light of day on this blog.

Second, as you can see below. My portfolio just arrived from the good folks at http://www.photobookcanada.com/
They did a great job; it looks more impressive in real life and not just on my bed incorrectly exposed. If you are around Humber this coming Wednesday (22nd) then drop by and check out the graduating students portfolio displays from 3pm-9pm. Thats where I'll be!

Down to the Wire

I've been shooting lots lately, which a nice change in pace, but this school year (my college education) is nearing its end. With that comes all kinds of stress. Lately I've been working on a plethora of assignments, as well as my Printed portfolio, which will be printed in a proper hardcover book, my business cards and website. I'm not complaining though as I cant wait for the finished results of it all. Some of the stuff I shot recently will find its way on here. But for now, here is a picture I did for my portfolio recently.

Billverstein

Yet another school assignment. This one led me to Bill Hamilton of Silverstein, who let me come over to his apartment and turn it into a make shift studio. Here are the shots:

Model Comp

Yet another school assignment. We were to shoot some different shots of a model and design a Comp Card with the shots. I ended up shooting a friend i met at Humber named Amber who was a trooper since it was so cold when we shot the outside stuff. I'm not much of a designer, so here are the shots I used.

Also, since I dont really have anywhere else to put this, here is a fake add I shot of Heinz Ketchup for commercial class.

SAMO MEDIA

For a school assignment I had to photograph a location business portrait. The photo was supposed to illustrate what the company does and show the environment. The nice people at Samo Media (http://www.samomedia.com/) were good enough to let me bug them for an afternoon. They were great people and make some cool stuff. If you are a band looking for album production and the like, check them out.

Sydney's Last Show.

Went to Sydney's last show ever and ended up only shooting Lifestory: Monologue. They played a great set, but a short set and I did not get to much shooting done. Not to mention how packed the venue was.

I'm Alive. ROM

We, as a class went the the ROM to shoot an interior architecture assignment. It was pretty fun, and the building was cool, but I've never been to into that type of photography. It seems I enjoy some candids of friends more.

New Look-Been Slacking

It would seem I haven't posted any new pictures for quite a while, but that does not mean I haven't been doing anything. School is starting to get busy and right now I'm building up my portfolio and also building an actual website. So I will soon have a real dot com website which I am very excited for. This blog is long over due for an overhaul and I was planning on doing it once my website is up and running. But I am not sure when that will be. So for now I changed somethings around and made this a lot more similar to how my website looks. And I swear there is a plethora of new photos coming.

Keep an eye out!

City Sirens

Recently worked with a band called City Sirens. They should be putting some music off of their new release on their myspace soon, so you should check it out as I have been enjoying it-http://myspac.com/citysirens. But in the meantime. here are a few shots from the shoot, and below I have made a couple of new posts so check it out.

James

Despite the depressing tone of these pictures, James is actually a happy guy. these were done for a lowkey portrait assignment.

And if only one more, make it last forever.

Went to Detroit to watch one of my favourite bands ever play their last set. I was debating whether or not I should bring my camera because I was not sure how sketchy the town was...and it was sketchy. Bulletproof glass on the counters of fast food restaurants made me uneasy. It was a rough show to shoot for other reasons, but I'm glad I have something to remember it buy. But for now I think I will let my lungs rest for a bit and stay out of America. We definitely take for granted our no smoking laws.

Highlight of the night-Crossing the border with too much cereal and RC cola. And Brooks running reds on a cell phone in front of a bunch of border police!

Trip to the States

We went to the Eastman House in Rochester NY as part of a field trip for a class. The trip was alot of fun, but it would of been nice to stay the whole night. This is just a big mess of photos from the day.

This picture was the cause of the colossal paint fail pictured below.

John was jumping, trying to showup in the sunglasses reflection. He spent the remaining hours of the trip like that.

Everyone had a good laugh at the whole pant thing later.

You have to stay clean when you travel by bus.
